FAMILY FUN FRIDAY! Toothpick Jenga

For this game you will need...
A bottle with a skinny neck. Glass bottles work the best but you could use a plastic bottle if that's all you have. We use a glass soda bottle.

Toothpicks, Be sure you get the Round Ones. Using the flat ones is cheating. You probably want 15-20 per person. Just grab a box at the grocery store. You can never have enough toothpicks. Another use for a toothpick. Let your kids use it as a fork. For fruit, vegetables, chunks of cheese, chunks of chicken/meat. I can give our youngest a fork and she is not interested in some of her food. I trade out for a toothpick and she will eat anything. Really.

How to play...
Give each person 20 toothpicks. Sit in a circle and put the bottle in the middle. Try to play on a solid surface. Decide who will go first. Have the first player take one of their toothpicks and balance it ACROSS the top of the bottle.

Then move on to the next person who has to do the same thing. Continue to take turns balancing toothpicks across the top of the bottle. The stack of toothpicks will continue to grow as everyone takes turns. The person to balance all of their toothpicks first, WINS. If you topple the stack of "picks", you loose.

This game is great for all ages. Our kids started playing at two and a half/three. My husband really likes this one too.

WHO HAS STEADY HANDS?

Have a great weekend.
See you Monday with a really fun GIVEAWAY!

  1. Stopping by from SITS Saturday Sharefest. This is a great idea. My kids get so bored and we run out of things to do with them. I am going to have to try this one. Thanks for sharing this.
